To keep your sterling silver and gold-plated jewellery shining brightly, follow these simple care tips to maintain their beauty and longevity. Proper care slows oxidation, prevents scratches, and preserves the finish of your precious pieces.

  • Store jewellery in a cool, dry place, ideally in a soft pouch, jewellery box, or airtight container to minimise exposure to air and humidity.

  • Wipe silver and solid gold pieces with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use to remove oils, sweat, or makeup. For deeper cleaning, soak in warm water with mild dish soap for 10–15 minutes, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a soft cloth.

  • Avoid soaking gold-plated items. Lightly dampen a cloth with water and mild soap, wipe gently, and dry immediately to protect the plating.

  • Remove jewellery before sleeping, swimming, showering, exercising, or doing household chores like washing dishes. Chlorinated water, saltwater, and sweat can tarnish silver, dull gold, or erode gold-plated finishes.

  • Keep jewellery away from perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and household cleaners, as these can cause tarnishing, discolouration, or wear on gold-plated pieces.

  • Use silver polish or a polishing cloth for occasional deep cleaning.

  • Use a gold-specific polishing cloth for solid gold; avoid over-polishing gold-plated pieces to preserve the plating.
